Find "Inner Peace" and "Community" at... Nudist Church?

If you think that finding true "Christian community without the pretense of traditional church" and "finding inner peace" is defined by individuals apart from God's Word, then you may end up like this church (which is part of a nudist colony):

Thankfully, the TV station blurred out the actual nudity...

This "Prophet" Will Read Tattoo So People Can Find Their Destiny

slack-imgs.jpg

Here's an article from the "Tattoo Prophet, Dream Interpreter, Life Coach" Doug Addison: Tattoo Prophet Doug Addison

Besides the ridiculous idea of reading people's tattoos like a cheap fortune teller, there's the underlying theology of this man: it's the same as most of the Signs and Wonders people he's associated with. There is no mention of sinners who need to be saved-only people who need to be loved; and the best way to love them is to tell them about themselves and their destiny. This is ear-tickling, plain and simple. He almost never even mentions the name "Jesus." It seems that his god is a wish granting genie, more than the sovereign Lord of the Universe (although I'm sure he claims to believe in the sovereign Lord of the Universe).

Doug (who claims to be a "prophetic forerunner") says: "Helping people find their destiny and life purpose is one of the most helpful and powerful things we can do for them. Over the next 5-10 years destiny-based outreach will become more and more prevalent. It encompasses all aspects of what a person needs to move forward. This includes, but is not limited to healing, dream interpretation, prophecy, spirit-filled life coaching, and explaining the supernatural in practical ways."

Hey Doug, how about if you please tell them about Jesus Christ-the Savior who died on the cross to pay the penalty for people's sins so they could have eternal life? Oh, that's right, this is a new type of anti-religion outreach you're doing. On his Core Values page, Doug says: "Some have presented the message of Jesus negatively, so one of our assignments from God is to be change agents. In a world that desperately needs hope, we do everything in our power to extend love and encouragement."

While it's (painfully) true that too many people have presented Jesus in a negative way, this teaching goes way to the other extreme. It's actually loving to tell people about their condition of sinfulness and how Christ died as the atonement-that's not being negative, it's a vital part of the process of pointing them to the Savior. Doug has seminars called "Detoxing from Toxic Christianity" where he teaches this newer, totally positive version of Christianity. He comes across like a really caring man who means well, but his teaching appears to be devoid of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (or it's buried very deep in Dream Destiny Dog Do).

For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream, for it is a lie that they are prophesying in my name; I did not send them, declares the LORD.
— Jeremiah 29: 8-9

Heidi Baker: "I Wanna Live an Oily Life!"

Heidi Baker profundities from the 2015 Woman on the Frontlines World Convention:

"We're living a life... an oily life... an oily life. I wanna call this an oily life. I wanna live an oily life, full of oil. Where do you get that oil? In the secret place. Intimacy, intimacy, intimacy, intimacy, intimacy! You can't strive for it, you just have to yield to it. He's a lover; when you know who he is, then your life changes. God has called us to be the oily ones! And when you're oily, you're full of the glory, full of the holy spirit, there's a fearlessness that comes over you... If you would focus your affections on the one who is the one, you would live in this fearlessness that would take you from a place of crazy terror to reckless devotion."

Note the moment where the camera shows Patricia King in the audience smiling (at 1:06). Patricia King (thinking to herself): "Yeeeeah... an oily life... that's good! I'm gonna use that!"

From Heidi's entire speech (which was probably pretty long), this is the portion that GOD TV thought was best to make into a short excerpt to feature on their YouTube channel. Hmmm...

For the overseer must be above reproach as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict. For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain.
— Titus 1: 7-11

For those of you who think it's mean and un-loving to criticize Heidi Baker (or any other popular teacher) here's a list of Bible verses to consider: Shocking Stuff You're Not Supposed to Know.

"In Jesus Name, The Bar is Open!!" -Patricia King

According to Patricia King, there are many barrels of wine in heaven. How does she know this? Because she's been there. "Wooooooo! There was barrel after barrel after barrel after barrel after barrel of wine!"

In the following video, the "prophet" Patricia King mangles God's Word and tells this audience that they can all get drunk the right way-God's way. After three and a half minutes of nonsense, she really gets to the main point of her message:

"In Jesus name the bar is open! The wine cellar is open, just come on in and drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink as much as you want! Because we can live in the house of wine! You know what, that banqueting table scripture in the Song of Solomon? That's a house of wine! Come on!"

Do not get drunk on wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
— Ephesians 5:18

Patricia King is associated with The New Apostolic Reformation. Her "prophetic word" was used as the focal point for a sermon at Bethel Church recently (instead of the Bible); Chris Rosebrough talked about it on a recent episode of Fighting for the Faith.

"Mommy, Why Is Jesus in the Museum of Idolatry?"

Here's a story and video about a guy who says he's Jesus. Really. This was just begging to get posted here at the Museum:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xiaz4q_jesus-is-back-at-least-in-brazil_news

Don't worry folks, this nut case is in Brazil. At least here in the States our narcissist pastors show a little more subtlety than this guy...

Note the use of pop music to attract converts... hmm, I wonder if that works?

But, hey, you have to admit, he's got great hair, a convincing beard and a really nice costume!

Prophetic Super Bowl Analysis

Lance Wallnau, a major celebrity in the New Apostolic Reformation and key teacher of the Seven Mountain Mandate took time on Super Bowl Sunday to weigh in on the prophetic significance of the game. We've posted Lance's pregame video and post game analysis.

The absurdity of the these videos, in their attempts to plumb the prophetic meaning of Super Bowl 50, demonstrate just how far off the rails the Charismatic Movement has travelled. None of this nonsense has any value in fulfilling the Great Commission. In fact, this is an impediment to accomplishing the Great Commission.

Lance Wallnau is a leader within the New Apostolic Reformation.

Rick Joyner's Demonic Voodoo "Church"

Warning: Viewer discretion advised; the following video is pretty scary:

This video is from a Morningstar Ministries broadcast, but somebody else added the text later; the original video was most likely removed by Morningstar Ministries after somebody realized how this looks much more like a voodoo ritual than a Christian church service. It starts with Joyner himself announcing "Lord, move among us..." and he walks offstage. Then the other (worship?) pastor says "alright, Tori's got something she's gonna release, and when this releases it's gonna be like a starting gun for the ministry time. So those of you who'd like ministry, go ahead and stand up, get in the middle section; youth, children, those who've been touched by the fire... prepare to minister... yeah, he's here."

Let's think about this for a minute: he said that this woman has "something that she's gonna release" and then he says "when this releases it's gonna be like a starting gun for ministry time..." Just based on those words alone this cannot be the Holy Spirit; unless you actually believe that the sovereign God of the universe is really an impersonal force that can be bottled up and then "released" by an incoherent, babbling woman who launches into a frightening spell of shouting, chanting, sobbing and repetitive phrases; resulting in a lot of people twisting, contorting and shaking uncontrollably.

For those of you who aren't disturbed by this video (because you think the true Holy Spirit is causing these things to happen) please read about the faulty and un-Biblical teaching behind Joyner and others like him: The Rick Joyner Cornucopia of False Teaching, Bible-Twisting and Overall Wackiness

Finally, this is a very helpful article about the many false beliefs, half-truths and misunderstandings that have crept into the church and are making discernment so difficult: Defusing Demonic Dirty Bombs

Here's another video where the same woman, Tori, is shown again; she was apparently a "Senior" in a school that was held at Morningstar Ministries:

Ken Copeland: God Gave Us Private Jets Because You Can't Talk to God in Coach

Ken Copeland and Jesse Duplantis, on the December 29th, 2015 broadcast of the Believers Voice of Victory claimed that God gave them their private jets because you can't talk to God in commercial airliners. In other words, they claim that they have important conversations with God which would otherwise be impossible if they were flying coach.

Think we're just making that up? Think again. Watch the video below.

HT: Pulpit and Pen

Hillsong's "Sleazy Silent Night!"

The following video is wrong on so many levels.

Aesthetically, it's just weird, confusing and embarrassing.

Hillsong Music Director: "Hey everybody, I've got a great idea! Let's take the beloved and peaceful Christmas hymn 'Silent Night' and turn it into a loud, obnoxious, roaring twenties style, Las Vegas big-band production! You know, kinda like Christmas in a whorehouse! What'ya think?!"

Everybody Who Should Know Better at Hillsong: (silence)

But beyond the ridiculous nature of this one particular song/video there's the more serious problem that this "thing" claims to be the church...

Hillsong leads the way when it comes to "churches" featuring worldly, gigantic and expensive spectacles to attract a large audience. They are laughing all the way to the bank, too, as this global empire continues to gobble up followers around the world.

Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world.
— 1 John 1: 15-16
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what it the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
— Romans 12: 1-2
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.
— 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-5

Closing thoughts: For those of you who say "but this was a performance at a special concert event-this wasn't an actual worship service; you need to see this in it's proper context..." Here's a question; why would a "church" have an event/concert with moral guidelines that are different from the moral guidelines that govern a worship service? Why be "a little more like the world" to attract people to a spectacle (like this video) and then "re-adjust" things for a Sunday morning service? If this video is supposed to be sleazy on purpose to somehow try and teach a lesson, Hillsong doesn't mention it anywhere-and this is from their own YouTube channel. It seems that this is just a very obnoxious version of Silent Night to grab the attention of the crowd. Note: A few hours after we posted this video, it was "made private" by Hillsong; the video on this page now is a copy we put on Vimeo.

Nothing Says "Desperation" Like Star Wars Church at Christmas!!

This pastor (who dressed up as Han Solo to preach on Sunday morning) has jumped whatever remains of the shark. Welcome to Christmas in the land of Evangelical Embarrassment. After church you can get your picture taken with the Storm Trooper "Magi:"

Here's some more examples of "Star Wars at Church" from various places...

In the following episode of Fighting for the Faith, Chris Rosebrough does a partial analysis of a sermon from the "Han Solo" pastor-the sermon review starts at 00:11:46 into the show:

Do you have a sick "personal relationship" with Jesus like this?

This is what happens when people take their personal experiences and IHOP's false Bridal Paradigm too far. This is Brandon Barthrop from Red Letter Ministries (RLM) who holds his church services in a former crackhouse in Minnesota. (You can hear his wife Penny in the background.)

(Warning: MA - explicit language and disturbing sexual references.)

This is Barthrop's excuse for the above video:

WARNING! This video is a parable! NOT to be taken literally. The language in this video is symbolic! Glory! Having spiritual sex with Jesus should be just as normal to Christians as breathing, since we are 1 spirit. Intimacy has been so religiousized by demons, so let us break the barriers into the reality of what intimacy is: sexual union. The entire bridal paradigm and the mystery of marriage and consummation etc. that is in the natural is all symbolic of the ultimate union with God. Sex between a man and women in the marriage covenant is the physical manifestation of the spiritual marriage and spiritual sex between the Christian and their Lord. Glory! Orgasmic glory is here to stay as the Lord will never issue us a divorce certificate! Hallelujah! For more orgasmic glory visit Red Letter Ministries online garden: http://RedLetterMin.com/”"
